Here are some makeup tips to help enhance your beautiful dark skin:

  • apply a primer on the entire face before you apply foundation so it will set better

  • use a concealer to hide dark circles and blemishes

  • apply a foundation that is similar to your skin tone. There are several good brands that make foundation for dark skin types. Apply the foundation using a foundation brush, foundation sponge or your fingers.
Apply and blend well into skin to get a smooth surface without visible lines of transition. Avoid oil based foundation especially if you have an oily complexion.
Set the foundation with loose dark tinted or translucent powder.

  • apply a primer to your eyelid so the eyeshadow will stay on all day, especially if your eyelids are a bit oily. Use shimmery eyeshadow like peach, dark browns, purple and copper. Do not use light color eyeshadow because they will look unnatural. Use black, brown or dark gray eyeliner and plenty of black mascara for a more glamorous look.

  • when it comes to blush try to use colors that can enhance your cheekbones like coral or rose. You can apply a little bit of shimmery powder on your cheekbones to bring more light towards them.

  • contour your lips with a lip pencil in warm colors. Blend the contour of your lips so it gradually fades so the line won't be too visible. Apply a clear gloss or lipstick with a matte finish.

Go for a more natural look with lighter makeup during the day and opt for more intense color eyeshadow and lipstick at night for a more glamorous look.
