Shake. Stir. Seduce. The new craze in makeup? A retro, uber-feminine look inspired by AMC’s drama series 'Mad Men' created and produced by Matthew Weiner. Legendary beauty brand
Estée Lauder teamed up with Weiner in order to develop a special line that can make every woman feel unique and charming. The two-piece limited edition Estée Lauder Mad Men collection features a Lipstick in Cherry and a Creme Rouge in Evening Rose in elegant, vintage designs from the legendary Estée Lauder ’60s collections.
"Quite frankly, we’re crazy for the show. We’ve always felt like there’s a connection between Mad Men and the Estée Lauder brand and Estée herself; the sixties were our heyday as well," says Jane Hertzmark Hudis, global brand president of Estée Lauder. Hertzmark Hudis also says that the beauty brand was interested in collaborating with Weiner because they could do it in "an authentic way. We were there in the sixties — it’s not creating something inspired by the sixties; we have stuff from the sixties!"
Lately, women are more and more fascinated about all things vintage and are embracing the trend in order to make a one-of-a-kind statement. And these limited edition essentials come in elegant, vintage designs. Truly unique, the gold compact and case add refinement and elegance to any beauty case. Speaking about the beautiful packaging, Jane Hertzmark Hudis said that, "The product and the packaging were inspired by a concept that we call 'handbag elegance' — beautiful things you take out of your purse."
The ad campaign for the Estée Lauder Mad Men collection features gorgeous model Constance Jablonski who perfectly rocks the '60s look with appropriate
makeup and a chic side-parted faux bob. Estée Lauder's creative director of makeup Tom Pecheux said that, "The sixties basically had everything in the way of femininity," adding that, "It’s the perfect balance between a forties contour and a healthy glow."
Both products in this line will be available starting March 18 just in time for the much-anticipated debut of the show’s fifth season on March 25. The collection will be sold exclusively on Estée Lauder and Bloomingdale’s Web sites. And a great news is that another limited-edition collection for season six is already in the works.
